ABOUT SOUTHERN SIGNAL
Distance shouldn’t
mean disconnection.
We make satellite technology easier to understand for people living, working and travelling beyond Australia’s major cities.
Useful knowledge for a big country
Choosing an internet service on a regional property is rarely as simple as comparing a monthly price. Trees, power, installation, support and the distance to the nearest technician all shape the experience. Southern Signal brings those practical questions into one readable field guide.
Our editorial mission is to help bridge the rural and regional digital divide through clear explanations. We write for households, travellers, farmers and remote businesses. We are an independent information site, not a network operator, installation company or emergency service.
How we build a guide
We prioritise official provider specifications, network explanations and relevant Australian guidance. Articles link to their sources and display a review date. We distinguish manufacturer figures from examples, wholesale rates from retail experience, and announced services from products available to order.
No invented field tests
Unless explicitly documented, our guides are desk-researched explanations rather than hands-on product reviews. A technical shortlist is not a laboratory ranking. Worked calculations state their assumptions so readers can adapt them.
Corrections and commercial independence
Prices and products change. If you spot an outdated detail, use the contact form with the article title and a supporting source. This edition contains no paid placements or affiliate links. Any future commercial relationships should be disclosed beside the relevant content.
